Nuclear Bomb Memorial, Hiroshima. Japan

Our proposal for the design of the last nuclear bomb memorial is founded on the concepts of memory, time, and renewal.
The design introduces a user-friendly urban intervention, emphasizing the void left in the aftermath of the atomic bomb.
At its core lies an urban square centered around a subterranean monument, detached from the upper space yet conceptually connected to it.
The visitor’s path follows a circular, clockwise movement, symbolizing a continuous journey from the present toward the future.

At the heart of the memorial is a spiral walkway descending below ground level, leading to a round pool of water.
Looking downward, the visitor sees the reflection of the sky — a metaphor for hope, the future, and the passage of time.
The water represents life itself — a quiet presence of remembrance and renewal emerging from destruction.

הצעתנו לתכנון אנדרטת הפצצה הגרעינית האחרונה מבוססת על תפיסה של זיכרון, זמן והתחדשות.
העיצוב משלב התערבות עירונית נגישה וידידותית למשתמש, המדגישה את החלל הריק שנוצר בעקבות הטלת פצצת האטום.
במרכז התכנון – כיכר עירונית שבמרכזה אנדרטה תת-קרקעית, מנותקת מהמרחב העליון אך מחוברת אליו רעיונית.
תנועת המבקרים לאנדרטה נעשית במהלך מעגלי, עם כיוון השעון, כסמל למסע מתמשך מההווה אל העתיד.

בלב אתר ההנצחה נמצא שביל ספירלי היורד אל מתחת לפני הקרקע, ומוליך את המבקר אל בריכת מים עגולה.
המבט כלפי מטה מגלה השתקפות של השמיים – סמל לתקווה, לעתיד ולמחזוריות הזמן.
המים מייצגים את החיים עצמם – נוכחות עדינה של זיכרון והתחדשות, בתוך מקום שנולד מתוך חורבן.
